Welcome to the 'Friends of Reinbek Castle'

The non-profit making Friends of Reinbek Castle Society was founded in 1977 by citizens of Reinbek and the surrounding area at the beginning of the restoration of the castle. The Friends of Reinbek Castle feel committed to preserving this most important, intact, Renaissance castle in Northern Germany as a unique cultural monument.

In addition, we regularly organize guided tours of the castle and castle grounds and initiate individual projects related to the castle.

Every summer, we also offer one- or multi-day study trips to culturally interesting places in the surrounding area and further afield.

Our goals:

• Promotion of the intensive use of the historic castle and the castle grounds as a cultural and community centre
• Support for measures to preserve the structure of the castle, to improve its equipment and to clarify its historical identity
• Participation in the maintenance and design of the castle grounds
