Reinbek Christmas Market
Meeting friends and finding wonderful gifts - for many years the Reinbek Christmas Market in and at the castle has been a popular meeting place for artisans and other exhibitors, charitable organizations, clubs and associations, but above all for thousands of visitors both young and old. It is THE big pre-Christmas Reinbek folk festival.
Approx. 70 exhibitors, the majority of them hobbyists, present their Christmas goods, especially individual handicrafts: Tiffany, hand embroidery, silver jewelry, Christmas cards, glass pictures, Christian handicrafts from Bethlehem, unusual bags, soaps, patchwork, spices, glass beads and much more. As always, a variety of refreshments are on offer.
Punctually at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday the market stalls open for visitors. Music groups create a Christmas atmosphere on the stage in the castle courtyard. Admission to all the events is free. Every year the Women’s Institute (LandFrauenVerein Südstormarn e.V.) opens their popular café in the Garden Hall (Gartensaal) of the castle.
Travel and Parking:
Very few parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity of the location. All visitors are asked to use public transport. Parking spaces for the disabled are located in the parking bays in front of the entrance to the railway underpass on the Reinbek Castle side. The Reinbek Trade Association and Reinbek Town appeal to visitors to heed this advice at all costs and wish them lots of fun and amusement while strolling through the Christmas market.
